Ms Rasika Chaube a graduate from the prestigious Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow is also a post-graduate in Psuchology and an M. Phil from Annamalai University. She joined the Civil Services in 1986 at a young age of 23 years.
She retired as Financial Advisor (Defence Service) after holding charge for nearly two years. She was also holding additional charge of Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) between Oct 2022 to Sep 2023. Previously, she was Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India from August 2018.
She was Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor to two Hon’ble Presidents of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam and Ms. Pratibha Devisingh Patil from 2002 to 2012. Ms. Chaube also held the appointment of Principal IFA (Air Force) where her office was awarded the Raksha Mantri Award for Excellence- 2017. She is also an alumni of 53rd National Defence College.
As FA (IDS), she was a member of the Collegiate Boards for Defence Procurement viz the Defence Procurement Board and the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) etc. She has also been a Member of the high-profile DRDO Review Committee headed by Dr. Vijayaraghavan, Ex-Principal Scientific Adviser for restructuring DRDO.
Ms. Rasika Chaube organized the ‘International Conference on Defence Finance and Economics, 2023’ after a long gap of 17 years in order to make a sustainable blue print for Defence Budget and to take the Defence Accounts Department from merely handling Defence Finance towards Defence Finance and Economics.
As Head of the Organisation, she ensured a shift from conventional audit to risk-based performance audit providing real time MIS to the Executive Authorities. Faceless Payment Processing System for the Defence Accounts Department was also launched during her tenure to bring in more transparency, efficiency and probity in payment.
Ms. Rasika Chaube is the first FA(DS) who has been given extension in service beyond her superannuation on 31 Oct 2023 by the Government of India
She is an avid reader and deeply interested in Art and Culture.
She is due to retire on 17th July, 2028 |
